Where is the best location to book a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina?

When booking your next stay in Buenos Aires you should take into account how many days you are staying or if you plan to stay for a  longer period. For a seven-day visit, I recommend staying in a tourist area, like the City Centre. However, if you plan to stay for two or three months, then Palermo is a great choice for you.

In this article, I’ll share where to find accommodation in Buenos Aires, the top reviewed hotels in the city, and three areas to stay in Buenos Aires.

What are the best websites to find accommodation in Buenos Aires?

The four main websites to find accommodation in Buenos Aires for foreigners are Airbnb, Booking, and Remax. These are reliable agencies that can accommodate your needs.

Airbnb offers a wider variety of accommodations such as apartments, shared rooms, and houses in Buenos Aires city center plus all the other features, like customer support, monthly discounts, verified reviews, etc. It’s more suitable for monthly stays since prices are lower than other sites.

We stayed on an Airbnb in Palermo Soho for two months, two blocks away from the Botanical Gardens, it was a perfect location for us since we didn’t have a car.

Usually, when we travel for longer periods we always book an Airbnb since we find it’s the best option for us.

Booking is ideal if you are visiting Buenos Aires for a couple of days or a week. On this site, you’ll find hotels to suit your needs and prices range from relatively cheap (60 USD per night) to more expensive (250 USD per night).

When searching for hotels on this site, it’s best to apply all the filters on your search to make it more specific. You’ll also find deals and discounts depending on your type of Booking account.

We usually book our holidays on Booking or when we do short trips, we find hotels and guesthouses that are suitable for our needs and always make use of all the deals.

Remax is a worldwide agency that has monthly rental apartments in all of Buenos Aires Province. When searching on this site beware that some apartments are not furnished, and some are not in the center of Buenos Aires (CABA). There are also apartments that are listed in Argentinian pesos and others in USD, make sure you have a money exchange converter at hand to compare prices.

This site is for people that are traveling to Buenos Aires for a month or longer. It’s also good for families that are relocating to Buenos Aires temporarily since you can contact an agent to help you with your search.

My experience: A few years ago I rented a house for the summer through a Remax agent, and she showed me all the options available for what I wanted in terms of location (near my family and friends), spacious, with a swimming pool and a garden. I have to say, I had no issues during my stay and I had a great time.

Be aware of choosing a location on main avenues like Av Santa Fe or Av 9 de Julio, these areas are very loud since they have heavy traffic every day.

What are the best places to visit in Buenos Aires?

If you are visiting Buenos Aires I recommend visiting the following 3:

City Center: Here you’ll find the widest avenue (9 de Julio), Colón Theatre, the Pink House, the Obelisk, Corrientes avenue, Palacio Barolo and Tortoni Cafe.

If you are visiting Buenos Aires for a couple of days you can choose to stay in this area and you’ll have everything you need to see from Buenos Aires.

Palermo: Palermo is the largest district in Buenos Aires and is a great place to stay if you are interested in art, parks, and food!

You won’t be disappointed with your stay in Palermo and I recommend staying here especially if you plan on staying 3 months in Buenos Aires.
