If you are interested in spending 3 months in Buenos Aires either to escape the winter in the northern Hemisphere or just to test out living in this magnificent city.
This is my second time spending 3 months in Buenos Aires. The first time we used Buenos Aires as a base to see more of Argentina and the second time we just stayed in Buenos Aires.
Are 3 months too long to spend in Buenos Aires?
Personally, I don’t think 3 months is too long to spend in Buenos Aires. It is such a huge city and there is so much to do. If you are working remotely, you can get a 3-month visa on arrival and rent an apartment in the city.
If like me, you don’t like winter in the northern hemisphere, then three months between October and March might seem like the perfect idea.
I personally would suggest that October-December or February-April would be the best times to come to Buenos Aires as January is very hot and there are not many people in the city as everyone escapes to the coast.

Advice for 3 months in Buenos Aires
The first thing you need to decide is whether you want to spend the full three months in Buenos Aires or use the city as a base to explore the rest of Argentina.
If you have the budget (and are not working too much), then I would highly recommend travelling around Argentina. On my first visit here, we went to Patagonia, saw the Perito Moreno glacier, and went hiking.
I recommend only spending the time needed to do the attractions in Patagonia as there isn’t really much to do when you finish them. We spent 3 weeks in El Calafate when we only needed to spend 2 days there!
We also stayed in the city of Córdoba for one month which I really enjoyed and there are many day trips or weekend trips that you can make from there.
If you want to stay in Buenos Aires for three months, then that is perfectly acceptable too, especially if you are working remotely. You can join a coworking space and enjoy the city in the evenings and at weekends.
Ideas and Itineraries for 3 months in Buenos Aires
Here are some helpful ideas for your 3-month stay in Buenos Aires
Where to stay
If you are staying for 3 months in Buenos Aires, then I recommend staying in Palermo Soho as you are close to many nice restaurants and cafés and you get a nice “neighbourhood” feel as opposed to downtown where it is a bit too busy.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of unsuitable apartments on Airbnb in Buenos Aires so it may take some searching. In saying that, Airbnb is still the best place to look for a medium-term rental. In the end, we decided to stay in this one.
What to do
There are so many things to do in Buenos Aires. We made a list of 50 things to do in Buenos Aires so take a look at that for some ideas. Definitely try to learn some Spanish before you come and when you get here.
Where to work
We did a good bit of research and ended up working at Selina coworking and we recommend it. They also have great social activities so it is an easy way to get going and meet people here. Areatres is another coworking space in Palermo that you can check out.
Itinerary/Day Trips
It is impossible to create an itinerary for 3 months and you want to be more flexible. Make a list of the things you want to do and tick them off when you do them.

Final thoughts
Buenos Aires is a great city to spend 3 months in, whether you are a digital nomad, remote worker or just want to spend 3 months in another city.
The city is not expensive so you can live very well as an American or European. You can also use Buenos Aires as a base to explore other places in Argentina or neighbouring countries such as Chile, Uruguay or Brazil.
