In this article I will share places to watch a tango show in Buenos Aires. 

1. Teatro Astor Piazzolla 

Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla, born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, was a composer and bandoneon player who revolutionised tango in Argentina and around the world. 

His most famous compositions are: ‘Adios Nonino’ (1959), ‘Balada para un loco’ (1969) and ‘Libertango’ (1974). 

This 1915 theatre offers an exciting display with live musicians, a professional dance crew, amazing tango singers and delicious dishes to share a night remembering the tango culture. 

There are three types of offers in the theatre: 

A private tango lesson: $50 USD. This private 45 min lesson is carried out by World Tango Champions and a certificate is provided. It starts at  8pm. 

Tango show: $75 USD. This price includes: two drinks and a 60 minute live show. It starts at 9.3 pm. 

Tango show and dinner: $100 USD. This offer includes: a 2 mins tango lesson, a three course dinner, a bottle of wine for two, coffee, a 60 minute live show and transfer to hotels in downtown or Palermo. It starts at 8 pm. 

2. Madero Tango 

This place in the modern neighbourhood of Puerto Madero offers a unique experience. 

There are 5 types of offers to choose from: 

Stalls dinner show: hotel pick up, a 3-course meal with drinks and the most spectacular Tango Show. 

Dinner show Executive: hotel pick up, a 3-course meal with drinks designed specially to include the most characteristic flavours of the Argentinian cuisine and the most spectacular Tango Show

3. Tango Carlos Gardel Show 

Carlos Gardel is a tango iconic figure not only in Argentina, but around the world. Some of his most famous songs are: ‘Por una cabeza’, ‘El día que me quieras’, ‘Volver’ and ‘Cuesta Abajo’. I highly recommend listening to some of his compositions to get an idea of the music from the show. 

This theatre is located at Palacio Tango and it’s dedicated to preserve his work and life.

4. Señor Tango show 

This theatre, also called ‘La Catedral del Tango’,  was built around the beginning of the century and still keeps all the traditional and historical style of the times. 

This theatre offers: 

Executive Menu – Dinner show: $20,000 ARS* 

VIP Menu – Private Box seat: $35,000 ARS* 

Drink Show VIP – Private Box seat:  $20,000 ARS*

5. El Café de los Angelitos Tango Show 

This place is known as one of the most traditional cafés in the heart of Buenos Aires. Many famous artists, sportspeople and celebrities of the argentinian cultural scene have visited this famous place.

This tango show venue is located in the heart of San Telmo neighbourhood and it has been awarded as a notable bar and restaurant of Buenos Aires city. 

This place offers a unique experience for  customers as it keeps all the historical characteristics of the beginnings of the XX century. The show is divided into five sections or themes: “Orígenes”, “Inmigrantes y Arrabal”, “Gardel, el Tango Canción”, “Salones y Milongas”, “Modernismo”.
